曾柏文 From TW, Brief introduction: Albert Tzeng was born in Taipei and moved seven times before he was seven years old. He spent his childhood in Taichung from elementary school to high school. Tzeng transferred from the Department of Chemistry to the Department of Psychology at Taiwan University. He then went to LSE to study Sociology. I am very interested in his doctoral thesis ‘Framing Sociology in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore’ at Warwick University.
侯大道 / Dadao Hou From CN / US, Brief introduction: I’ve spent countless nights engrossed in his articles. Hailing from Suzhou City in Jiangsu Province, he’s a remarkable individual who identifies as a sexual minority. His academic journey is as impressive as his writing: he majored in Statistics at Peking University, then ventured to Hong Kong for a degree in Demography, and finally delved into Sociology at Texas A&M University. Currently, he brings his insights and talents to UC Santa Cruz.
张儒君 / Alice Zhang From CN / US, Brief introduction: 纽约州立水牛城社会学系预备博士生,清华社会学本科。
Cheng Lin From CN / SWE, Brief introduction: He’s a Ph.D. candidate in Computational Social Sciences at Linköping University in Sweden. Beyond his academic pursuits, he’s also a long-time online friend of mine. Over the years, our virtual conversations have been a source of insight and camaraderie.

张小天 / Zhang Xiaotian From CN, Brief introduction: Though Dr. Zhang Xiaotian passed away over a decade ago, his legacy endures beyond the grave. While he never had the chance to know me, I’ve come to know him through a posthumous collection of his essays, lovingly curated by his colleagues to honor his mastery in his field. His presence still lingers in the academic realm, suggesting that true intellectuals achieve a form of immortality through their work. Even after all this time, his students still cherish his memory, and his influence reaches far beyond, touching even those like me, who never had the chance to meet him in person.

3. Others’ Collection

Top 50 Sociology Blogs, Websites & Influencers in 2020

Yongren Shi / 施永仁** Brief introduction: Associate Professor of Sociology at University of Iowa. He focuses on social network analysis.
Yuqiong Li Brief introduction: Master student at New York University Center of Data Science. A graduate student in Sociology once, working on social movements and cultural Sociology. I feel deep regret for she deleted many articles she wrote in her early years, including reflection articles from sociological perspective, and some novels called "Bo Fulin’s love story (薄扶林爱情故事)”.

I find myself at a loss for words when reading Yuqiong Li’s new blog post. Moved by the Umbrella Movement, she initially transferred from the Department of Statistics to the Department of Sociology, but later transitioned to Finance due to practical considerations. I feel as though I have lost an academic predecessor. I, too, may eventually enter the job market, a path fraught with uncertainty. The numerous constraints in life often cause me to waver in my decisions.

王潇宇 Brief introduction: He has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Yunnan Normal University and a master’s degree in ethnic history from Yunnan University. He seems to be working in Yunnan FROM OUR EYES Rural Documentary and Culture Research Centre, His recent situation can be seen on this website.
An unnamed sociologist Brief introduction: A bachelor of arts in history, but he’s now turn to Sociology.
Yukun Ma Brief introduction: My best friend in graduate school, Yukun used to major in engineering at Nanjing University, but he’s now pursuing for a PhD in Sociology.

社会学吧 Brief introduction: Held by Nanjing University.

5. Non-Social Science Blogs

王芫 / Anna Wang From CN / US, Brief introduction: I’m contemplating whether it’s fitting to include her story in this blog. She’s a writer who graduated from Peking University in the 1980s, and her words have deeply resonated with me. Her beautiful narratives about the time she spends with her daughter are profoundly touching. For now, I’ll share her words here. Who knows? One day, I might compile these personal, non-social science reflections into a special collection.

柯棋瀚。科学史专业。中科院自然科学史研究所博士生,本、硕在北师大历史学专业接受训练。他的博客排版布局有点乱,但他朋友李泰衡写的各地博物馆盘点挺有意思的。
